Adoption Day
Pets and Friends and the Humane Society of East Texas are offering a once-a-month Adoption Day on the second Saturday of each month from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at our store location, 2979 Highway 110 North, Tyler,
Gayle Helms, Director of the Humane Society of East Texas, along with volunteers will be available to talk with anyone who is interested in adopting a pet. They will also have some pets from the Humane Society in the store for you to see and pet.
Our Buddy, a border collie mix, came from the Humane Society in February 2007. He was listed as "Homeless" since he was found wandering the streets of Tyler. Gene took a tour of the facility while he was waiting to meet with Gayle to let her know about our pet cremation services. Buddy and Gene met that day and Buddy looked at Gene and let him know that he should come to live with us. Buddy has added such joy to our family that we wanted to offer an adoption day to other potential pet owners.
The Humane Society of East Texas, an animal advocate agency, is operated under the direction of a Board of Directors and the Executive Director. Our goal is to find forever homes for the animals at our shelter and to promote responsible pet ownership. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter services, microchip, all vaccinations (including rabies) and 30 days of free pet health insurance. The Humane Society of East Texas is a "no kill" facility.
Upon adoption of a pet at our location, Pets and Friends will be giving you a free 5 lb. bag of Nutro or Avoderm dog or cat food along with a free goody bag. We look forward to seeing you at Pets and Friends on the second Saturday of each month.
